First edition, 8vo., xvi, (2), 171, (1)pp., slightly loose in original green blind stamped cloth, dull and rubbed. List of Subscribers

Inscribed copy: "Presented to Edwd Lovey with the Author's respects June 9th 1845" and tipped in a 3 page Autograph letter of the same date to his friend a subscriber and schoolmaster from Stroud. In the letter he presents him with a copy of his poem and requests "that you will greatly oblige me by carefully reading it, and giving one your candid opinion about it either for, or against...... this will assist me in writing a new edition....... I have written another poem...... in the common epice measure, it is an appeal to Great Britain in behalf of the labouring classes..... At present I am writing an Arithmetic which I intend to make as plain as possible that young persons may improve themselves in their leisure hours.......".
