  The Humble Petition and Advice Presented unto His Highness the Lord Protector By The Knights, Citizens and Burgesses Assembled At the Parliament begun and held at Westminster the 17th day of September 1656. and there continued until the 26th day of June following, and then adjourned unto the 20th day of January 1657. As also, Their Humble Additional and Explanatory Petition and Advice, Presented unto his Highnesse in the same Parliament; Together with His Highness Consent unto the said Petitions when they were respectively presented.

Parliament petitions Oliver Cromwell with a number of requests commencing with a request that he should name his Successor in the event of his death. Then follow a seriers of requests including the need for confirmation that the Protestant Religion shall be mainitained, that all followers of the Popish Religion shall be disabled from holding any office &c. &c. The Additional Petition has a separate sub title. Wing E1566

Broadside, tall slim 8vo., printed one side, has been folded.

Henry Thomas Liddell, later Earl of Ravensworth (1797 -1878) stood as Tory candidate at the Northumberland Election of the 26th February 1826 but was unscuccessful. At the General Election in June of the same year he stood again and was elected. This poem of seven 4 line stanzas tells him to seek another borough. First line "What did Harry Liddell say?"
